I learned ASL at 12 for a Deaf friend who preferred it to BSL, but it has meant that I cannot really communicate with people beside them in my country, so I want to learn BSL so I can better communicate with other Deaf people. Also, I am autistic and can struggle with verbal communication, so providing myself another means to communicate, particularly in periods of shutdown, would be helpful.
