I have had an interest in learning BSL for many years because I find it an interesting language which is helpful to include more people in society rather than exclude. I am neurodiverse and a kinaesthetic learner, so this is a functionally accessible language for me to (hopefully) learn, understand and implement. Alongside the D/deaf community for whom BSL is primarily created and used, I have seen some people find it useful in the Neurodiverse community for various reasons including nonverbal communication.
I think it's an exciting opportunity to be able to communicate with more people and learn about the D/deaf community and culture as well.
