Hi im new to site, just starting off my journey in signing. I work for a local zoo in education.
I have always been inspired by signing having taken my children as babies to local baby signing it was there i first got a glimpse of this amazing language, i wanted to learn to be able to communicate to people that simply have a different way of communicating.
A friend and i recently went to a zoo related show as exhibitors and little did i know he could sign, a lady walked past with hearing aids and he noticed her mum signing to her daughter my friend walked up and said do you mind if i speak to your daughter and then began signing the daughter was absolutely blown away that one person had taken time to talk to her.
So i think like french and German its a shame sign language is not completed at schools to provide diversity in how people communicate
