  1. Thank you for welcoming me into the forum. I’m a retired Physiologist which has little to do with BSL but I’m learning BSL for two main reasons. My husband is partially deaf and we may need the facility of signing in the future. I really enjoy languages and speak English and French fluently and have an Honours Degree in French. We lived in France for many years and whilst we there I acted as an interpreter and also learnt a lot of Spanish. I am thoroughly enjoying the challenge of learning BSL, a unique language in it’s own right, and the course keeps the brain very active. When life eventually returns to some sort of normality I would like to volunteer and communicate with Deaf people in the my community. BSL is something I have wanted to learn and now I have the opportunity.
