Hello, my name is Will. I am a teaching assistant, living in London (I noticed that quite a lot of people here work in schools, which is great!). I've always wanted to learn another language before I have children so I can raise them bilingually and I've tried spoken languages and it's always been pretty unsuccessful (my fault I guess). I became interested in BSL a while ago and when the pandemic struck and I was put on furlough I figured now was a good time to try and learn properly. Part of my interest is to do with making myself more employable as an SEN Teaching Assistant but mostly I am interested in meeting a new community of people and learning to communicate with them all the facial expressiveness, mental speed and dexterity required for BSL take me right out of my comfort zone and I think it's important to push your boundaries, especially if it helps you meet new interesting people. My hobbies including partner dancing (something I would like to become a job one day), writing and outdoor activities or various types. With BSL, I struggle to motivate myself to keep on it but I'm just about hanging in there, although my progress is slow. It's nice to meet you all.
