I am a notetaker/scribe and just recently started working with a deaf student at college. I learned to fingerspell a very long time ago (almost 40 years) when I was at school but never used it. However I recently surprised myself, and my student, when I automatically started to fingerspell something for them without even thinking. I couldn't believe that I could remember it after all this time! This has made me want to learn more and eventually become fluent in BSL.
