I learned to finger-spell when I was a teen as my friends sister was Deaf and so I picked it up. I am revisiting BSL many years later as I have a Deaf client and although she can lip read, I feel frustrated that I am unable to communicate more effectively with her. This has inspired me to learn BSL so that I can connect better with her and with more people in the Deaf community. Im really enjoying learning.
