  1. This is a very good question, I have wanted to learn since I was at school and my mom taught me the finger spelling alphabet and a few basic signs. I think this language is beautiful and should be taught in schools as a mfl like Spanish, French, German etc. Learning this language is important as I would like to be able to bridge the gap in inclusion.
  2. *** Research Participants Needed *** Hello, I am recruiting for participants to be involved in a research study regarding the experiences of students with hearing impairments at university and university practice towards inclusion. I am conducting this study as the basis for the degree of BA Education at The University of East Anglia. This will take place under the supervision of Dr Rebecca Westrup at the University of East Anglia. I am seeking current students OR graduates with hearing impairments to participate in one semi-structured interview with myself, prior to the 8th March 2019. The interview is expected to take between 20-40 minutes and will be conducted at a suitable time and location, or via telephone/video-call. Questions will be reflecting on your experience at university as a student with a hearing impairment. Should you be interested in participating and fit the criteria, please contact me at [email protected] If you know of anyone who may be interested in participating, please forward them my contact details so that I can provide further information. Furthermore, an interpreter will be available, if requested in advance. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions that you may have. About me: My name is Cat and I am studying for a degree in Education with the aim of completing a PhD. I have been a member of my university BSL society for three years and held a committee position for one year. I am a level 1 signer and wish to continue to practice and learn BSL to gain level 6!
