my name is annie I just enrolled in a level 1 beginners💗 sign language course by  the BSL. sign language is such an important thing that is so undertaught in schools and institutions, children should be taught from an early age exactly like MFLs are taught, whether or not the school has an association with somebody who needs to use it or not. I have never been in the situation where I need BSL but I know it as wider part of society. I have always wanted to learn sign language and I see lockdown as a prime opportunity to do so.

    • Hi, I am Lyn. I am learning BSL as I had a head injury a few years ago. I lost most of my hearing and my speech was impaired for a while. It was quite frightening as I couldn't really communicate with people although I could understand. I found people made assumptions about what was going on particularly Doctors and medical staff. I don't ever want to be made to feel like that again. Or, indeed , be treated like that again. I am now at a time in my life where I have a bit more time to learn so h
