Introducing Myself

Hi,

My name is Linzie, although everyone knows as Luna and so now I kind of go by it. I guess she is my cooler more outgoing alter ego.

When I was 17 I met a 4 year old girl who had down syndrome. She signed at me with the biggest smile and I had no way to communicate back except smile too, and my heart mushed a little inside. ok a lot!!!  I vowed I would learn sign language and like every 17 yr old I got busy and I forgot. However I have never forgotten her!

I was furloughed during lockdown and decided to make positive use of my time and actually do the one thing I have always wanted to but not the time to do. Soooo here I am, learning at last and completely loving it.

I am the person who will watch two people signing in public, and maybe seen as rude for staring, however, I find it a beautiful language and am so glad I have taken this step. My signing is slow and I am hoping to speed up. I don't know many Deaf people. I have friends who are in the deaf community due to their children, but again not many. I hoped by joining here I could meet people and, well I don't know chat, learn and make friends.

I often don't come out on page as loving as my words are meant so I am hoping this is as endearing reading as is being intended.

I look forward to any replies.

Love Luna x

It all started with a simple yet profound desire to learn British Sign Language (BSL), and this journey unfolded in the most unexpected way, thanks to my young brother. My younger brother, Alex, was born with a natural curiosity and an unparalleled sense of wonder. He had always been fascinated by different cultures, languages, and ways of communication. One day, while we w

If you have problems with your reproductive system, you should learn more about the medicinal product Enclofimen at https://valhallavitality.com/blog/unraveling-the-benefits-and-sources-of-enclomiphene-a-comprehensive-guide. It contains information about the effectiveness of the drug in increasing testosterone levels in men, as well as treating reproductive function. Most hospitals recommend this drug.
    • Hi there I've been wanting to learn sign language for years, but just found you can do it online so very excited to learn! I don't think it's going to be easy though! If there's anyone on here from Belfast that wants to have a coffee and practice in person, give me a shout! Liz

    • Hi! I’m Emily, I was a CoDa (child of deaf adult) between ages of 5 and 12 as we used BSL at home to communicate with my stepdad who was deaf.    I recently watched a show with a deaf actress in who used ASL and it reminded me that I know quite a lot of basic BSL but I want to brush up on my skills so I can effectively communicate with any BSL users I come across! It’s also a fun hobby ☺️
