Hi all:

My name is Imogen.  I am a linguist by education and profession.  I learnt Spanish in South America but went through the British Education System with French.  I have spent most of my career as an MFL teacher specialising in all things Latin America and I speak French and Spanish fluently.  Spanish is my strongest foreign language.  I am now mostly a teacher of English for Academic Purposes and ESP English for Specific Purposes to post graduates wanting to study in this country.  I publish resources and also teach one to one.  I have always been fascinated by the idea of adding another type of language to my many bow strings and now I have a further personal reason.  My 9 year old nephew has down syndrome and uses Makaton.  Since BSL and Makaton are related I decided to learn them both at the same time.

      Hi everyone. Name me what, Jeff. I've been basic signing for about 10 years now after getting a basic lesson from the company that I used to work for. My aim now, is to become fully competent within BSL and gain a qualification, and then look for any kind of employment that relates to BSL.

      Hello everyone. I am incredibly new to BSL (I've had one class at introductory level so far but I intend to pursue). I am 48 and I am experiencing some hearing loss but really I want to learn to sign to give myself more communication options and to be able to communicate with as many people as I can.

      Hello! I am very new here and I would like recommendations of online BSL courses where I can learn online in the evening. Cost isn’t an issue but it needs to be money well spent.  For context, am a lifelong hearing aid wearer with no BSL knowledge apart from finger spelling the alphabet… slowly.    Thanks in advance.
