Hi there, Hope you are all enjoying learning to sign!

Despite being diagnosed with a hearing impairment at age 13, with likelihood being I've had one since early childhood, I have never been given support to learn sign language as a supportive communication facility. I do wonder if this is because sign language is not something people know, so it wouldn't have been much help. It's why we need to all play a part in learning some sign. We don't know who we are going to meet who uses sign. You may even have children who you have to sign with. Learn language young, develop the skills and use it regularly - it will help create society more inclusive. Especially with these days of mask wearing where voices are muffled - perhaps this will be part of the changes we experience? I hope we can make it happen.

      Hi  everyone, this is my first post on the forum.  I work as part of the Front of House Team in a theatre and I am interested in learning some sign language to be able to communicate more easily with the many members of the deaf community who come to the theatre. So far I am doing ok in the comfort of my own home but under pressure I get flustered.  Does anyone else find the same problem? I think a lot is down to constant repetition and practice.

      Hello everyone 🙂 I'm Layne. I am about to take my BSL202 and BSL203 at the start of next week 😬 I luckily passed BSL201 last week 😌 I am based in India so it is tricky to find people to practice with. If anyone is up super early in the UK and looking for someone to converse with I am 5.5 hours ahead so will be around! Thank you 🙏
