Possibly the lamest reason for learning BSL!

I am learning BSL because of a film. Yes, I am that person who is easily swayed by media. 

I watched the film Coda  about a hearing girl in a deaf family and how she was relied on to communicate for their business. 

I am a business advisor and it struck me that there could be businesses in the same situation. So I thought I'd try to learn the basics in case I came across a situation that they could help in.

Now having read the page on Audism I'm a bit terrified I'm going fall into some of those traps: trying to help when it isn't wanted or needed and makes people feel worse not better. 

I guess for now I'm going to learn for the love of learning and hope one day it comes in useful for the right reasons.
