Hi I am Karen.

I really enjoy learning sign language and have studied it before but my knowledge is very rusty hence now refreshing.  I would like to continue learning and progressing within sign language to develop my understanding further and utilise it to support others.

Hi I am Olivia and I have just started learning BSL as part of my DoFE award. I am really enjoying it so far and I am picking it up quite well. I have suffered with my hearing since i was a young child and have had 3 operations to fix it. This is important to me as it helps raise awareness and make me more understanding of people in even worse situations than mine was.

Hi, my name is Eimear :)

I'm currently learning BSL at the minute as it's a nice language to have and learning the language is helpful because you never know who you are going to meet or have to assist. I'm enjoying learning BSL because I know that it will be used in the future as I am hoping to do nursing and it is helping me to improve my communication skills.

I have progressive hearing loss and at present wear hearing aids in both my ears, my early life was in the Royal Artillery and I also play the saxophone (no surprises why I'm losing my hearing!). As I have been informed that I will continue to lose my ability to hear I thought I best start learning BSL now. My daughter is learning with me, so hopefully we'll be able to help each other along and practice what we l
    • Hi I am Vicky.  I decided to do the introduction to sign language course mainly as learning a new skill that may be useful in the future. However I also work in education as a teacher so it may be useful if I ever work with students with hearing impairments.
