I have just restarted trying to learn a bit of BSL - it is almost 2 years since I started and then gave up!  I am planning on completing the BSL online course this time and hope to find someone to practise signing with.  I attend weekly lip reading classes

I had issues with consistency as well it the hardest part of learning and I found it tough for ages especially with languages and learning basic words and not being able to communicate. the way I dealt with it was through using learning language through stories method a youtuber came up with (Olly Richards) I've found it a lot easier to learn and stay on course now and its lots more fun now. Maybe it may help you with your lip reading.

    • Thank you! I'll be enrolling in the online course offered on British Sign. I've not done it yet as I'm currently enrolled in a French course which finishes in 3 weeks. Then, when I'm back in the UK, I'll see how I can step up my learning. I guess there's no substitute for real-life, real-time human practice. Can't wait to get stuck in.
