Sure! Here's a left-handed fingerspelling test using British Sign Language (BSL). Try to match each letter with the left hand, as shown in the following:

  1. A – Make a fist, with the thumb beside the index finger.
  2. B – Hold your hand palm forward with your fingers together, forming a "B" shape.
  3. C – Shape your hand like the letter "C" by curving your fingers.
  4. D – Form a "D" by bending your index finger in a circle and keeping your other fingers straight.
  5. E – Make a fist with your thumb pressing down, forming a small "E."
  6. F – Form an "F" by touching your thumb and index finger together and extending the other fingers.
  7. G – Make a "G" shape by curling your fingers slightly and extending your thumb out.
  8. H – Form an "H" by holding your hand with the index and middle fingers extended, together, and the other fingers curled.
  9. I – Make a fist with your thumb up, and extend your pinky finger.
  10. J – Start with the "I" shape and move your pinky in a small curve to make the "J."
  11. K – Form a "K" by extending your index and middle fingers and separating them slightly, while the thumb points out to the side.
  12. L – Form an "L" by extending your thumb and index finger, making a right angle.
  13. M – Curl your thumb over the first three fingers and extend the pinky.
  14. N – Curl your thumb over your first two fingers and extend the pinky.
  15. O – Form an "O" by making a circular shape with your fingers.
  16. P – Form a "P" by extending your index and middle fingers, while your thumb points sideways.
  17. Q – Form a "Q" by making a fist with your thumb sticking out and extending your pinky finger.
  18. R – Form an "R" by crossing your index and middle fingers.
  19. S – Make a fist with your thumb wrapped around your index finger.
  20. T – Make a fist and position your thumb over the top of your index finger.
  21. U – Extend your index and middle fingers together, with the other fingers curled.
  22. V – Extend your index and middle fingers in a "V" shape, with your other fingers curled.
  23. W – Extend your index, middle, and ring fingers in a "W" shape.
  24. X – Form an "X" by curling your index finger to cross over the middle finger.
  25. Y – Extend your thumb and pinky, while your other fingers are curled in.
  26. Z – Use your index finger to trace the letter "Z" in the air.

    • Hi there! I'm Laila and I've just started a beginners course in BSL. I work in a nursery as a senco and one to one currently but hoping to move on to a different job role in a special school or a school setting. I've been fascinated by BSL for years now and I've finally decided to take the leap and start a course so here we are! I am already level 1, 2, 3 and soon to be level 4 trained in makaton in the new year but ive always loved watching people use BSL and even though I'm not deaf i still plan on signing as i speak to myself to ensure i dont forget any of it and i just find it fun to do anyway! I am a little suspicious of my hearing anyway as it isnt the best and i do have moments where i lose hearing in one of my ears for a few minutes at a time the longest being an hour and sometimes in both ears together so I'm looking into that but im so excited to finally be a BSL user and join this community
