Hi there,

My name is Trixie and I'm learning BSL to keep my brain active. Many years ago, I was learning South African sign language and I loved it! I stopped when I left SA and life has been fairly tumultuous since then. We recently learned that my husband will most likely lose his hearing in the next 20 years or so (he has already lost hearing in one ear completely), so I want to be prepared. It's also good for my ageing brain to learn a new language, so I'm diving in with enthusiasm and committment!

Love that I have found this community and resource!

  I have had an interest in learning BSL for a long time. I believe born out of a desire to communicate with everyone (younger me was super extroverted). I also worked with SEN children some which were diagnosed as hearing impaired. I kept stopping and starting for many years due to the business of life. But life also decided I needed to slow down so I have decided this is the year I will complete the intro course and looking forward to learning more in the future. Also looking forward to engaging
