Why am I learning BSL?

I have always been interested in learning BSL, having taught myself the finger spelling signs when I was about 10 years old from my mum's old nursing sign language book. I have currently just finished my first year of a masters in Speech and Language Therapy which has reignited my interest. I hope to have, at the very least, a base level knowledge of BSL when going into an SLT role in the future to be able to support my communication with prospective clients / patients.
