I'm learning BSL because I have hearing loss and tinnitus due to meneieres disease and my hearing getting worse.
I originally took a level 1 course 25+ years ago as I had a friend who was profoundly deaf and a BSL teacher. Unfortunately we lost touch, but now I'm learning again
I'm autistic and, though I generally have little issue using spoken languages, I find myself looking for an alternative that might feel more comfortable and be more accessible to me during verbal shutdowns. Furthermore, BSL will allow me to connect with more people in the disabled community and other communities I am a part of, which I really value.
Hello! My name is Rowan and I use he/him pronouns. I'm currently completing an introductory course to British sign language. I've been wanting to learn for a while so I'm very excited!
