Total ASL Beginner

Recommended Posts

Hey there!

I'm Judith and I am currently studying British Studies at a German University. I also speak German, French and Italian, but I recently got interested in learning sign language.

I don't know anybody with whom I could communicate in ASL, but this does not stop me from being motivated about it.

I'd love to get in touch with some of you in order to support each other in the process.

Lots of love, Judith

Hi judith and carter. I am new as well, here in Texas. Lifeprint.com I understand is an amazing website. I speak English, Spanish, and am working on French, and want to start in on ASL.

As far as finding native ASL speakers in your area, call different churches, they sometimes have groups that get together.

Also, google deaf/hard of hearing associations in your area, and contact local college teachers of ASL for advice.

    • I made an ASL discord server. It has a teen only area and an adult area as well as sections for beginners, intermediate, advanced, and fluent as well as a mixed level and age area. I hope to see y’all there so that we learn, practice, and grow together.   https://discord.gg/CmQrzAhf
    • I just got 45! I'm getting really good I feel! I always like to find a good speed, then just read off the letters as they come up, and spell the word, then once i'm good at recognizing what letter it is, I try to pronounce the word as it comes through, I find that helps the most when it comes to learning with this game! hopefully I can get to 50 in 2 mins by the end of the week.
