Heather Rubright Posted January 1, 2018 Report Posted January 1, 2018 Hi my name is Heather. I have 7 kids. My husband is losing his hearing so we’re trying to learn ASL. Sadly, where we are there aren’t classes so we’re on our own.

Heather Rubright Posted January 2, 2018 Author Report Posted January 2, 2018 Thanks Jess1403! I’d love to chat with you. Let me know when and how is best for you.
SigningBrandi Posted January 3, 2018 Report Posted January 3, 2018 Hi ladies! I would suggest contacting your state's Deaf and Hard of Hearing Commission. They will have a list of places that offer sign language classes. Also, you could ask them to post that you are looking for a mentor/teacher. They may know of someone in your area that could work with you. I would also suggest googling Bill Vicars. He is Deaf himself and holds a Doctorate of Education. He does sign lessons online. http://www.lifeprint.com/ I think it's great that you are both teaching yourselves! Keep it up!
Jess1403 Posted January 4, 2018 Report Posted January 4, 2018 My teacher is Bill Vicars. He is great and I learn every video and he keeps attention so well. For anyone teaching themselves he is a great teacher to watch and learn from. 1
