Good afternoon.

As many of us, I'm snooping around for online practice groups.  Unfortunately zoom / online works ideally for many of us, but as Covid wanes and groups are ending in favor of in-person, we are eager to hear about new groups (beyond those currently offered on Meetup.com (most of us belong to the main groups on there already)).  Sometimes opportunities are shared in smaller communities, so worth asking as our regular ones sadly decline.  It can be tricky with time zone differences, but it can't hurt to ask!  Looking for conversation / discussion (vs. games or classes), primarily intermediate and above (all levels are okay as well, as I'm happy to spread the word for anyone in the same boat).  Thank you for any ideas, links, direction etc!

    • Hello,  my name is LaDonn and I have been learning ASL over the past few years.  I have taken some local classes which were extremely helpful and I love making new friends.  I also study on my own using ASL dictionaries, watching videos and recently teaming up with a fellow ASL classmate to practice when we can.  So, I was thrilled to find this site where I can actually video chat with other signers and practice with voice off.  The best way to learn is by doing.   I would love to meet both beginners like me and experienced signers, too.
    • Hi!  My name is Kendal, and I am a college student currently enrolled in ASL II. Unfortunately, online spaces are the only way I can immerse myself in the Deaf community, which is the main reason I decided to make my account. Now, onto the interview help... For my midterm project, I am required to conduct a brief interview with a deaf person. If there is anyone who fits my single criteria and is willing to participate, please let me know!
    • Hi, my name is Triceta. I am 30 years old. I am Deaf, I lost my hearing in 2023, but I have been signing for 13 years, I took ASL in highschool and just continued signing. I immersed myself in the deaf community, wanting to learn more and to practice the skills I had. Fast forward to 2020, I started having double ear infections and kept complaining of the pain, but nothing was ever done. By the time I saw a doctor who would listen to me and consulted with an ENT specialist, my hearing had already diminished in both ears.
    • Thank so much!
