  1. How would I sign fascist or nazi?
  2. I'm a health professional and I was looking into what certains terms are in my BSL dictionary signbsl.com but there seem to be none! So I'm learning a bit of ASL too as signasl.org does have these terms. Words I looked up: Appendicitis, pneumonia, pscitticosis At least 'fever' is in there
  3. Welcome back Gerry! I hope you manage to find members of your local Deaf community to interact with. I am not Deaf myself, but i do know CIs are a controversial topic in the community. I also heard that they can cause dizzyness and it can feel very overwhelming at the beginning. I hope that your transition goes smoothly, good luck!
  4. I'm not Deaf or Hard of Hearing. But as an autistic person, I feel like using BSL is less stressful than speaking. I have difficulty processing verbal information due to my autism. If I am not looking at a human's face, it is more difficult to understand what noises they are making. Signing feels more natural to me, and reduces the things I need to pay attention to in conversations. I am still at the toddler level of BSL, so I still struggle following a conversation in BSL. Especially fingerspelling. I hope by watching BSLZone TV I become more fluent. It is sad that I never learned the sign language of my home town. I feel like that would have helped with my communication skills.
  5. Hello! I am looking for other autistic BSL folk to practice with.

    Hello

Hello, my name is Malik. I am learning BSL because I am autistic and it is teaching me about reading facial expressions and body language. It is also a helpful tool for when I am non-verbal.
