Hi, I'm Rosie and I am currently in isolation. I am a student doing my Level 3 Childcare and I would like to work with disabled children when I finish this course so I will need to learn BSL/Makaton in order to communicate with some of these children. I already know how to fingerspell the alphabet but I would like to know more words like animals and words that will be useful for the children like 'food', 'tired', 'more' etc.

Thank you :)

Hi Rosie, I'm Emma, I'm in a similar situation except studying Health and Social Care - always wanted to learn so I'm so happy I finally have the chance!

    • I love languages and work in Diversity and Inclusion work for an LGBT charity, and so wanted to combine my love of languages with being inclusive, which led me to sign language. I hope that I will be able to learn to sign clearly and well and that this skill will aid me in learning how to create inclusive spaces for Deaf and signing people.
