Why I am learning . . .

I grew up in the deaf community in Walsall but sadly since the passing of my parents, I don't have anyone to sign with anymore and my skills have deteriorated. I have some good friends in the deaf community and I realise when I talk with them . . . 1) How old fashioned my signing is. 2) How I can't understand being signed at anymore unless its very slow. 3) How my signing is more like SSE. I felt with the current social situation, its a perfect time to dedicate myself to resharpening my old signs and learning lots of new things in the hope of obtaining perhaps grade 1 & 2 going forward.

Also, I am an actor and I feel in my profession, they're finally being inclusive to BSL and I feel it would benefit me to have some official qualifications.
