Why I am learning BSL

Recommended Posts

As I said in my 'introducing myself' post, I have learnt quite a bit of makaton from working with children. Also having grown up in a family with a blind father, I understand how incredibly important it is to be able to communicate with different people in a way that is both respectful and effective. I also plan to use the skills I learn to help me better communicate with the children I work with, whether they are Deaf or not, as well as to hopefully enable them to learn some basic sign language.
