My name is Olivia and I am learning BSL as I am a student nurse. I am in my second year of training and have met many people with communication difficulties in which BSL can be a useful method of bridging this gap. I also work in a pub and have experienced deaf customers bringing their orders written down or struggling to place orders. Nobody should feel that they are unable to communicate because of a disability and since my first experience with deaf customers I have been trying to expand my knowledge of BSL in order to ensure that I am able to communicate with all people, not just people that can hear.

      Hello, My name's Lucy and I used to be a learning support assistant to young adults with special educational needs. I used to sign to some of the students using Makaton, basic BSL and Signalong. I achieved a certificate in Signalong but would like to learn BSL to a high standard. I have now started a new job so it's hard to practice it with others. I'm based in Manchester.

      Hey I'm DJ!  I'm very new to BSL but it is something I'm having a great time learning and would love to be able to practice in real life (I don't have anyone in my life that knows or uses BSL).       Hi everyone. Name me what, Jeff. I've been basic signing for about 10 years now after getting a basic lesson from the company that I used to work for. My aim now, is to become fully competent within BSL and gain a qualification, and then look for any kind of employment that relates to BSL.
