Hello :)

I’m still very new to BSL and just trying to take it all in!

I’ve always wanted to be fluent in another language and I never thought I would have the time or energy to do so. I am a secondary science technician with a 12 month old and 7 year old so have my hands full most of the time, but with this lock down, I decided to make something of it. Whilst I am very busy in the day homeschooling and tending to the baby, I have noticed I’m just wasting my evenings watching thing on telly I have watched 100 times before. So, I have decided to be productive and put my insomnia to work.

So, fingers crossed and wish all those also doing the course all the best and hopefully I will be able to sign to you later.

      Hi my name is rich , semi retired taxi driver , after years of working with the disabled , to and from home to centre , hospitals . clinics etc , have decided to learn to sign , to enable me to communicate to the passenger if only in a small way . When i have fully retired I hope to become a freelance interpreter

      I recently had a health scare due to some hearing loss, which even medical professionals are unsure why I have. I decided after this that I would learn BSL (something I have wanted to do for years but never got round to doing) because of this, but also because everyone has a right to be 'heard'. I find it disappointing that schools do not teach BSL, as there are many people who use it as their only language, and it is disheartening to know that not everyone can understand them.       Hello    I am learning British Sign Language as i work in child care.  I am also hard of hearing myself.  I wear a hearing aid in my right ear due to a mastoid when younger.  I also have recently started to wear a hearing aid in my Left ear as my hearing has deteriorated, so in the future i may even need to know BSL.  i feel BSL should be taught in schools as it is a language in itself and there are lots of people that are hard or hearing or deaf.  I feel like they would be includ

      Hi,  I am learning BSL in order to better support the students going through university. I have just been offered a job as a student support worker, to assist deaf and/or sight impaired students and, although not a requirement of the job, I feel it would be beneficial to both myself and the students if I can at least sign some basics.
