I am coming out of university and as an inclusive dance artist/ teacher, I am trying to be as diverse as possible. 

I am also going into teaching in the next academic year in a school that is for children with hearing impairments and I think I will be able to have better communication, understanding and connections with the children if I can speak to them using sign language.

Is there anyone on here that is a dance teacher for those with hearing impairments? I would love to connect and discuss how you teach/ what sort of exercises work best etc? as I am very new to teaching in this way and would appreciate any knowledge from those more experienced. (Not all of the children know a lot of sign language but a few do).

      I’m Shiona. I’m currently on my BSL learning journey for the second time.       Hello, my name is Zonya and I have been learning BSL for a couple of months now.  I am not deaf but work at a doctors surgery where we have very few deaf/Deaf patients but find it sad that there are so few non deaf./Deaf people that know BSL. I feel this should be a compulsory lesson at least once per week in all schools. I hope everyone is well.
