Hello everyone! We are offering free tickets to a BSL interpreted play this week! Always Right There is one of the headline shows at this year’s RADA festival (Malet St, wC1E 7JN) and we’d like to offer 30 free tickets to members of this forum for one of our BSL interpreted performances. The play is about the nuances of sexual harassment and the way women talk to each other. It’s partly set in a spin studio and is very funny! We have two brilliant female signers. More info if you follow the link below. The first 30 people to email me their name(s) can have a free ticket for the performance on the 5th July at 4.15pm!! Please email [email protected] by midnight on Wednesday to claim your free seat!!       My interest came from BSL module in uni (student paramedic) and I wanted to build on my knowledge so that I would be able to communicate with patients in the future. I also love chatting to strangers and I want to be able to do that with people who sign to!!

      I work in commercial aviation as Senior Cabin Crew.   I wanted to learn Sign Language as we carry an increasing number of persons who identify as deaf, and I think it is an invaluable skill to have from a communication point of view. Although we have ASL and BSL capabilities via electronic QR codes on board, the ability to provide that personal and human interaction is equally important.

      I work in research and want to learn BSL to enable more inclusivity within this field. I work with many different communities and find that the deaf community is too often overlooked. I want to address this and hopefully learn a lot myself and maybe gain some new friends.
