Further BSL courses after the basic online course

Recommended Posts

Hi I haven't quite completed the online course yet but really enjoying it. I think I'll go over the material a few more times once I've finished to consolidate my learning but what further courses are recommended to follow on from this? How do I progress and learn more/practice? I'm also thinking to start watching films etc with sign and try and follow but I think it might be a bit too early for that! Many thanks 🙏🏽

After completing a basic online British Sign Language (BSL) course, you can progress to more advanced levels to enhance your skills. Here are some options:

1. Level 2 BSL

  • Builds on basic vocabulary and grammar.
  • Focuses on conversational skills and everyday communication.
  • Suitable for those who want to communicate more fluently.

2. Level 3 BSL

  • Develops complex signing and understanding.
  • Introduces more in-depth conversations and storytelling.
  • Ideal for those considering professional use of BSL.

3. Level 4 & Level 6 BSL

  • Designed for those aiming for fluency or professional interpreter roles.
  • Covers in-depth linguistics, culture, and advanced communication.

4. BSL Interpreting Courses

  • If you aim to become a professional interpreter, you can take specialized courses leading to formal interpreting qualifications.

Where to Study?

  • Signature and IBSL offer accredited courses.
  • Online platforms like British-sign.co.uk or BSL Courses by Deaf-led organizations may provide intermediate to advanced training.

Since the rounds are so short, it’s perfect for filling up a few minutes without needing a solid Wi-Fi connection. Plus, the game loads fast, which really helped because the network was patchy most of the way. Super handy for travel.
    • Hey, I just wanted to share my experience with you all. I found this site through a colleague who mentioned it at work. The aviator bet game intrigued me because it seemed like a fun, no-pressure game. I’ve had a blast playing it and, to my surprise, ended up with a decent win. It’s definitely a great way to relax and unwind. So far, I’m very satisfied with the experience.
