using lip reading while learning signs ?

hi so I've been finding myself using lip reading as i'm doing the assessments and not sure how much i should rely on this, some signs i can't get then when i concentrate more on the face and lips i can understand it. Do others find themselves doing this to or ?

Personally, I use a bit of both especially as some use the same sign for different words. I often look at the sign first then rewatch it looking at both sign and face for clarification. Hope this helps
