Hello my name is tye and i am hearing! I am 13 and almost in high school. I've always wanted to learn a language but i just didn't know which one to learn so i chose ASL. ASL has been part of my life for a few days now. I've improved A LOT during my study, and i have a book by Rochelle Barlow on ASL for beginners my mom bought me. I know how to do simple introductions and a few random words but i need help in grammar and where to place my signs. I also know the ASL alphabet pretty well and i can fingerspell really well. I would love to encounter a person who knows ASL so I could practice having a conversation. Thank you for reading, and contact me if you want to talk!

      Hi everyone! I'm a hearing husband with a deaf wife, and I'm a retired electrician and safety instructor. I know some sign language, but I'm hoping this site will help me improve my skills and support others in our local fire department. Although there aren't many deaf people in my community, I have many deaf friends from different places. We always have a great time together, and they're wonderfully patient while teaching me new signs! I'm excited to be here, learn more, and connect with everyone.       My name is Leah and I started learning ASL to help people communicate where there are language barriers. For instance: I just started volunteering at a nature center and I hope that one day I'll be able to help someone connect there. I'm also applying for a job at my local YMCA for the Member Services desk. It would be great to help the deaf and hard of hearing community connect there also. I'm very excited about learning ASL. I love helping people. 😊

      I am taking my first class of ASL at a local community college.   I am hearing.  The teacher is Deaf and fantastic.   The language is beautiful.   I am learning because I have 3 neuro-divergent kids and I think this would be a good way to connect with them.

      However, it tends to cover all aspects of the business curriculum in much greater depth. You get a formal degree qualification after spending a significant amount of time. Normally, it is more suitable for people seeking a comprehensive business education rather than for those focusing on and sharpening a single skill.
