HoH - Need to Learn ASL .....

Recommended Posts

I started losing hearing last year, but only started learning ASL around the beginning of April, 2018. I have seen too many people lose their hearing, and not know any Sign Language. I do not want to be stuck someday with serious hearing loss, and no communication skills.

So, I'm getting a head start with learning ASL ..... I need to connect with people to practice ASL ..... Nobody in my family is interested in learning ASL. I have no personal friends who are deaf.

Hey Gadget,

I am Angelo.  I would love to have someone else to SIGN with.  I'm definitely a newbie and not good at all yet, but I am trying.  Let me know if you want to have a test session with me.

Thanx!  Angelo

    • Hello, I am a senior in high school,  learning ASL. I was talking to my teacher, when she mentioned that you can only get your name in ASL with someone deaf giving it to you. Is this true?
    • Hi Lori -  Let's start with the easy question - what time zone are you in?
    • Hi Katelyn, If our schedules can match up, I'd be happy to practice with you. I have some experience with ASL, but it's old and dusty, and I was never fluent. I'm new to Chat groups, so I'm not really sure how they work...Let me know if you have specific times that you'd like to practice. Lori
    • Hi there! I am studying ASL at Gallaudet University, but my biggest problem is I lack confidence when I sign. I am really looking for someone who will have patience to practice with me. Thanks! Katelyn
