Hi! I'm Capt Lou. Before you ask I'm not the wrestler. I took the name Capt Lou cuz its the name of the feral cat I feed. :)

I am currently teaching myself american sign language becuz I learn the basic alphabet a long time ago in school. Today I am inspired to relearn relearn ASL becuz line my favorite shows, The Walking Dead. I can actually hear and I know no deaf/hearing impaired people. But something about the characters on the show moved me to learn and educate myself.

well here's to the road and the journey of learning a second language.

Welcome Capt. Lou! In my opinion, any reason to learn ASL is a good one!  You don't need to interact with deaf if you want to learn a second language (though I do recommend it).  ASL is useful for hearing people too!

Good luck on your journey, stick with it!

    • My name is Giuseppe. I found this forum to learn ASL and converse regularly. I’ve had a few encounters and felt bad that I could not communicate with them other writing on paper.    When in college I “ “ heard if you don’t use the knowledge of what you learned in 6 months you lose it 🙂 I’m hear to learn  from you all any day.
