  2. Love this challenge—I've been refining my own work wardrobe for years, and honestly, five pieces is tight but doable if you choose wisely. Your list is solid, though I'd personally swap the silk shell for a structured knit that travels better and hides coffee stains. My formula leans heavily on classic women's clothing because trends fade but a well-cut blazer or a crisp button-down keeps earning its spot season after season. That's exactly where I'd point anyone looking to build this kind of capsule. Finding pieces that hold their shape, resist wrinkles, and transition from desk to dinner without shouting for attention makes all the difference. A curated closet isn't about deprivation—it's about owning fewer things that actually work. Your list has me rethinking my own five.
  3. I've been thinking a lot about minimalism lately, and I want to try an experiment. If you had to choose only five classic items to get you through a full year of work (office meetings, casual Fridays, client lunches, the whole deal), what would you pick? No seasonal cheating—these five have to work in summer and winter with layering. My tentative list: a tailored blazer, dark wide-leg trousers, a silk shell top, a crewneck sweater, and a crisp white button-down. I feel like that covers most situations, but I'm already second-guessing myself. Would you swap the shell for a midi skirt? Ditch the sweater for a cardigan? For those who've actually lived with a capsule wardrobe built from classic women's clothing, how many pieces do you find is the real sweet spot? And what's the one 'extra' you always end up adding back in?

  11. My name is Immarni and I’ve always wanted to learn sign language. I think it’s an important life skill to know and wish it was taught in schools.
  12. As I am HoH and even with hearing aids I have difficulty understanding people. So I’m learning to help myself and hopefully I can teach my partner and friends. Hopefully eventually I can find more people like me.
  13. Hi I’m Ami-May. I am HoH.. severe hearing loss in left ear and profoundly deaf in right ear. I wear hearing aids. I’m learning BSL for myself so I can communicate better with my partner and friends and hopefully they learn along side me.
  14. Hi ! Iam Karen , I would like to join your forum and possibly work with some other people. I decided to do BSL because I needed to exercise my hand and I wanted to do something that was more interesting than just exercising, and I thought BSL might help me with someone if they were deaf.
  15. I am now in my 8th week at Remark for my level 2 BSL course and really enjoying it. I will be attend the Deaf Day at City Lit this Saturday, and it's free; Deaf Day 2026 | London | City Lit . DJ
  16. Hi. Started to learn BSL on British-sign.co.uk. They suggest I copy the following picture.
  17. I am looking for someone aswell
  18. Anyone interested in practice buddy.
  19. Years ago I employed a deaf lady who taught me how to finger spell. I never forgot it and could remember it years later. I always wanted to learn more but I have no need for it as such as I don’t know anyone who is deaf. I’m embarrassed to say I can’t really speak any other language than a bit of German, so I’ve decided I need a second language and I’ve chosen BSL. My colleague is learning it too so we can practice with each other. I would love to join up with other learners too!
  20. Hi I have been learning BSL for 3 years. I recently completed exams in December and January with my Signature approved centre. Before the receptive exam, we sit in the room (which is not appropriately laid out for a fair exam for everyone anyway) and before we start the exam, the teacher spends about 10 minutes going through a list of signs and their corresponding English words that will appear throughout the receptive exam to help us. Is this cheating?? Does anyone else experience this? It kind of defeats the purpose of a receptive skills exam. And It's not part of the exam conduct anywhere in the exam specification.
  21. My name is Sharron and i am 55 years old. I have 2 absolutely gorgeous grandsons, the second of which was born with Microtia and has been diagnosed as severely deaf. We have been lucky that this diagnosis came within a few weeks of him being born and he has already been fitted with cochlear' s which made an instant difference. i have decided to learn BSL so I can communicate with my grandson on all levels and I'm enjoying it immensely. Thanks for your time and I look forward to reading all your comments and tips for the future.
  22. Hello, I am available to practice online I am currently a part time one day a week Intensive Saturday , BSL , L1 student.. Online group practice works well. I am available during the week on days and weekends during the day time
  23. Hello I have just registered on Signature to guide me through my part time, Saturday morning BSL, L1 course. Most of the class is half my age and prefer to practice all over London and What's App. The college does not offer a year 2 buddy / peer support. We are advised to practice using YouTube or apps. But these tools do not offer reflective learning . Does anyone know what difference between the BSL Homework 1, 2 & 3 ? All three BSL Homework are priced differently but the description suggest they offer the same I may purchase the cheapest Storm Rae
  24. Can we arrange 5 to 6 for practice. I am learning level 1
  25. I’m learning BSL as part of my Silver Duke of Edinburgh award
