HI! My name's Miranda. My Girlfriend and I just started ASL class together. When I was younger, my mom's boyfriend's son was deaf, so I learned a little. She took a semester in college. But both of those things were a little while ago, and now we kind of want to learn again and we have the time to do it together. I am learning because I really enjoy language learning (I used to be functional in German, and I have been studying Mandarin, Swahili and Swedish on and off for a few years), and because I don't see a reason not to learn ASL. Never know when I might need it, and writing gets tedious. Like, I should know how to sign. IDK. Anyway, we've only had a few classes so far, but I figure forums and YouTube and stuff will definitely help me stay on track. Other than that, I am a queer gamer girl, writer and all around nerd. So that's me!

      Hi everyone! I'm a hearing husband with a deaf wife, and I'm a retired electrician and safety instructor. I know some sign language, but I'm hoping this site will help me improve my skills and support others in our local fire department. Although there aren't many deaf people in my community, I have many deaf friends from different places. We always have a great time together, and they're wonderfully patient while teaching me new signs! I'm excited to be here, learn more, and connect with everyone.       My name is Leah and I started learning ASL to help people communicate where there are language barriers. For instance: I just started volunteering at a nature center and I hope that one day I'll be able to help someone connect there. I'm also applying for a job at my local YMCA for the Member Services desk. It would be great to help the deaf and hard of hearing community connect there also. I'm very excited about learning ASL. I love helping people. 😊

      I am taking my first class of ASL at a local community college.   I am hearing.  The teacher is Deaf and fantastic.   The language is beautiful.   I am learning because I have 3 neuro-divergent kids and I think this would be a good way to connect with them.

      However, it tends to cover all aspects of the business curriculum in much greater depth. You get a formal degree qualification after spending a significant amount of time. Normally, it is more suitable for people seeking a comprehensive business education rather than for those focusing on and sharpening a single skill.
