I've noticed there's an increasing amount of people attempting to use the chat rooms on the website to practice. I'm here to possibly discuss a solution. If people read this, we could arrange to have people congregate to the chatroom at around 9 pm EST two days a week. At this time most people would be off work and have a little bit of free time. My suggestion is everyone tries to hop on around 9 pm EST either every Friday (as per the calendar) or every Wednesday and Saturday, where people get two opportunities per week to meet others. What do you guys think? I try to check the chat every other day at around 8 pm EST.

My ultimate suggestion is 9 pm EST on Friday. What do you guys think?

I haven't read through everything but I can only say having been in interpreters School that the reason we want to practice with deaf people is because we want the ability to learn the speed and the mannerisms that come when that is your native language. Asking someone to practice French in a room full of practicing French speaking people doesn't allow them to speak French fluently

You have a right to your language you have a right to your culture but we live in the world now that you cannot hold on to this right to keep it all to yourselves and expect us to figure out a way jump the bridge

    • I'm hearing and I'm very much a beginner to ASL. Currently, I'm taking online courses. But, I want to practice conversation with people and haven't been able to practice beyond the interactions I've had at work.
