Hello! My name is Eleonora and I live in Scotland. I work in customer service and one of our regular customers is deaf. Wanting to communicate better with them gave me the needed push to finally learn BSL, which I've always been interested in (I'm also a translator and all languages fascinate me). I have only just started and I would love to have more opportunities to practice. HI! My name is Bianca and I began learning sign language in October 2025. I was initially prompted by a book called "Where is God in a messed up world?" and there was the first page dedicated to the deaf community: "This book is dedicated to those individuals who were born deaf. They are one of the West's most neglected groups of individuals. They may never have heard the birds sing, the enthusiastic chatter of a group of friends or a Beethoven symphony, but I pray that they will hear the still, small voice of Almighty God speaking to their hearts.". This touched me deeply, and I decided to dedicate myself to caring for the deaf community through charities and learning BSL, where I also attended events to interact with other young people who were keen on creating change for the SEND community. We would not be who we are without you.

Having worked in a variety of educational settings over a number of years, I strongly believe that making students (whatever their age or background) feel accepted, heard and safe helps create a positive environment for learning. I love working in education - first as a teacher and later as an LSA, now SEND Support - and am frustrated by the barriers we (all) encounter, especially when there are solutions. I'm learning BSL because, yes, it will help me at work, but also because it's part of working towards removing barriers to learning and hopefully building that positive, safe environment for students.

Hi, I'm Sarah and I work as a SEND Support at a college for 16 - 19+ year-olds in Yorkshire. Many of our students experience a range of learning challenges, including hearing impairments, and I would like to learn BSL as part of a personal commitment to making educational a positive and inclusive experience.

Hello I'm Jess and very gradually working my way through the BSL course, but I don't actually know anyone who signs so perhaps I can practice on here? I learned fingerspelling as a child and recently thought I'd like to learn a new skill, and thought that BSL could potentially be the most useful.

Hi (this is months later but anyway) I'm a BSL starter so not at all reliable! But here's a go on first phrases (WHICH MAY BE VERY WRONG!) Hi. Name me what? - Ann. Age me what? - 27. Work me what? - bar tender [I don't know that sign - maybe 'pub' 'help'?? Learn me what M-A therapy (I don't know the sign). Live me where? E-S-S-E-X (or https://www.signbsl.com/sign/essex). Arrived by car 30 minutes. sister name what? - Maya, age her what? 30, she lives (lives she??) where? - London.

An inclusive environment starts with the space itself, at least for me. People need to feel comfortable, seen, and able to communicate without the room working against them. That is why I think privacy and calm matter so much when you rent a space for business philly. A dedicated studio gives you more control over how clients, students, or collaborators experience the work from the moment they arrive.

hi im denim im 18 years old and im a support worker for adults with complex learning and physical disabilities. im refreshing my brain on BSL to support service users at the home im employed at to be able to communicate with those who need it effiecently and effectively. :)

Our popular 'BSL Level 1 Summer Intensive' course is back. This year, our intensive courses will be held three days per week for four weeks, starting on Tuesday, 28th July and finishing on Thursday 20th August. Classes will be conducted on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 11am to 4pm. This qualification is designed to enable you to develop an ability to communicate with Deaf people using BSL in a range of familiar contexts, participating in more detailed and open-ended exchanges. The course will develop functional communication in BSL about a range of real-life and daily experiences. You will be able to deal with more routine language tasks and have a sufficient grasp of grammar to cope with some non-routine tasks. Hi everyone, I’m new to this group & I would love to find someone to practice with. I’m learning BSL level one & I don’t have anyone to practice with, my confidence is low when signing because of it. I’m learning because I’ve always wanted to & think it’s important to do so. I have just failed my 1st exam so confidence is even lower, I don’t want to let myself down or the deaf community. I’ve always liked builds that already have a story built into them, and the Firehouse is one of those sets that feels like it deserves more than plain shelf space. That is why the lego ghostbusters firehouse light kit catches my eye. Once the lights are on, the whole model feels more like a real late night scene instead of just a finished build. I’m curious whether other people here like adding lighting to display sets or prefer to leave them untouched.

I like jewelry more when it carries something personal instead of feeling mass made or purely decorative. Seeing someone create BSL jewelry from the basics has that same kind of charm because it turns meaning into something you can actually wear. That is probably why Casual Carats stands out to me. Hi my name is Amie, my second child has just turnt one years old and at three weeks was confirmed to have moderate hearing loss in both ears. So I am learning BSL so I can be supportive in any way possible and to ensure he has the benefit of having many ways to communicate his needs.

I've been thinking a lot about minimalism lately, and I want to try an experiment.
