    • That's wonderful, Ari! Learning BSL for a friend is a thoughtful way to connect and communicate more effectively. It can make a huge difference in supporting them and showing that you care. If you ever need any tips or resources to help you along the way, feel free to ask!
    • You're right—British Sign Language (BSL) does not include a standardised set of medical terms, which can make it challenging for healthcare professionals to communicate specific medical concepts directly with Deaf patients. However, many BSL users and healthcare providers work together to establish common signs for medical terminology, and interpreters can often bridge the gap in medical settings. If you're learning BSL for healthcare or a related field, it's important to either collaborate
    • Are you currently learning British Sign Language (BSL)? If so, I'd love to hear your motivation! Are you learning it for work, personal interest, or to communicate with someone specific? Let me know, and I can help refine your answer in a meaningful way.
    • Hi Andy, are you self-learning? I am currently studying level 2 through Signature. Thanks SJ
    • Hi, I am now studying BSL level 2, just one more exam to go for this year!! Is there anyone else from Scotland who would be willing to have basic conversations by video? I am aware of the regional differences in signs and would like to expand my knowledge from around Scotland.  Thank you, SJ

    • Next week is a huge one for the British Sign Language (BSL) community! Sign Language Week 2025 runs from March 17th to 23rd, celebrating BSL not just as a language but as a culture, community, and a sense of belonging. 📺 BSL on Milkshake! – Making Kids’ TV More Accessible Once again, Milkshake! on 5 is leading the way in making children’s television accessible, with a fantastic lineup of visually signed (BSL interpreted) programmes from Monday 17th to Friday 21st March. Here’s whe
    • Hi, I'm Andy, I was inspired to learn BSL from listening to BBC CWR during lockdown, one of the presenters launched the Sign Up To Sign initiative.  I've been learning on and off since 2020, using lots of different resources.  It's easy to pick up and you never know when it will come in handy
    • This one’s an awkward bugger. I have ADP myself so I’d like to be able to sign it    unfortunately, using two popular and seemingly well respected BSL online dictionaries has got me this far:   sound over-thinking fingerspelling: d i s o r d e r    sound process regulation (shaking head to signify disregulation)   anyone got a better idea? Would be a great help !  also this is my first post . I don’t do introduction posts, so just saying hi!
