Is there some kind of extra software that i need to download to use the video chats on this site? I think using them would help me learn better, but when i join one it just comes up with a grey screen with a picture in the middle of a camera with a line through it. It might be something to do with software, or just that my webcam isn't enabled somehow (let this site access my microphone and camera when the pop-up came up though). I'm on my Lenovo laptop with Windows 10 if that helps. Thanks in advance!

Hello! My name is Amy and I live in the North West. I have always wanted to learn sign language (sounds so cliché, but true) from a young age. I actually learnt how to fingerspell the alphabet in primary school and I have never forgotten it. I've said to myself for ages that I must try and find a course and also enquired in work (I'm a receptionist in a GP Surgery) but unfortunately due to lockdown that has all been put on hold. So I thought I would try and find a course in the meantime that I could do that would give me a good head start and foundation if work do find me a course to go on too. I've just completed the third assessment and I am loving it! It's everything I wanted it to be! I'm looking forward to completing the course and starting to put it into practice, it's also going to be an amazing tool to help at work too! It would be great to meet some more of you lovely people who are at the beginning of your journey and chat, maybe even make some friends and practice BSL! Hi, I'm Jenna and here is a bit about myself. I decided to start learning BSL as my 3rd child who is now 3 and half does not talk. He speaks minimal words e.g. Mumma, baba, nana, yes, Everything else is a guessing game and whilst in lockdown awaiting speech therapy and return to nursery I though finding a way to communicate better would help.
