Hi everyone, my name is Gemma and I have been learning very small amounts of BSL since I was in school. Just like many others I have been stuck inside for a lot longer than usual over lockdown and I really wanted to use this time to do something productive. I can't wait to get started and I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.

Hi my name is Poppy, my mum is a special needs teaching assistant so basic sign language has always been ingrained in our daily life, (e.g please and thank you) however I wanted to learn more as in the future I want to also work with special needs children so I believe this course would be helpful for my development in communication with children who are deaf or those who struggle with verbal language.

Hi, my name is Eleanor and I'm a school technician and teaching assistant in a secondary school. I have been deaf in one ear since I was a teenager and have been interested in sign language since then. I have trained a bit in Signalong but this is my first attempt at British Sign Language.

Hi I am Amanda. I am a teacher supporting children with special needs particularly autism. I cant work in schools right now and have always been interested in sign language. I have a son who has a mild hearing impairment and almost trained to be a teacher of the deaf at one time. I have been inspired by watching the interpreters on the daily covid updates, it reminded me of how much I wanted to learn in the past but never had the time. Now I have a lot more time! I am very much enjoying learning to sign. Not confident enough to do a video but I am very impressed by those who have - I am signing well done to you all! Take care everyone Amanda

My name is Kerrie and I am currently studying the course Introducing British Sign Language. I became interested in learning BSL after I formed a bond with a customer of mine at work and I realised how amazing the skill of this language is !
