  1. I have had a problem with Part Three on the online course, and it prevented me from moving on to the next stage. I wanted to clear each level sequentially. I became discouraged about having to learn a whole range of occupations and locations, and was disappointed that "retired" was not included among them. By now I think it would be WORK+ME+NO or something like that. Also, no offense, but I'm not likely to have to use Carlisle or Teaching Assistant very often - and my home city (Belfast) isn't included. After several months of procrastination, I'm delighted that this evening I eventually scored 95% on Level 3, and am able to move on to the next level. Just a thought for other participant learners. Here's hoping I'll get to the end and be able to undertake

  2. The Sign BSL app is good for finding missing signs. Belfast and retired are both in there. 😀 Retired is a great sign BTW. Reminds me of casting off a burden.

  3. Hello Emma, well done for asking the question in BSL! A useful resource for finding BSL signs is YouGlish - you can search for lots of different languages though, so make sure your settings are for BSL. It has over 100 examples of the sign "festival": https://youglish.com/pronounce/festival/signlanguage/uk? The sign for "festival" can be seen here at 0:07: Tip for YouTube - if you go to the settings on the bottom right, you can slow it right down so you can catch all the signs. And if I can offer a bit of feedback on your signing - the letter "S" is signed with both your little fingers - no index finger involved! (A common mistake but good to catch early!) All the best.
