Hi!

So the sign for 'parents' is the fingerspelling of 'M' and 'F'. Is there another way of signing 'parents' for same sex parents?

Interesting question. My guess would be you just sign the same twice eg 'M' and 'M' or 'F' and 'F' ????

Thanks! However the fingerspelling for mum is spelling 'M' twice! same for father! 

So do I spell 'M' four times??

Yes 4 times. it is only repeated for the beat of the word- two syllables in mother and father

or you could say "I have two mothers" keeps thing simpler

Hi, sorry, it seems this post is a bit old now but I've just seen it and thought I'd add my two penneth.

There is a sign for parents referring to any combination of either gender and can be used for non binary parent/s as well.

Using the peace sign wiggle your hand from side to side to suggest two people accompanied with the lip pattern 'parents'.
