Hello Cecily

I'm also learning ASL I'm currently taking my first ASL class. I have been learning a lot more than i thought i could learn . However I have no one to practice my sings so I am scared of forgetting what I've learned so far. I see that you are much advance than I am so maybe we can practice with each other.  Have a great day .

Best regards

I would love to join in if you guys don't mind. I'll be graduating High School soon and I really want to continue Sign Language. I've taken only ASL 1 but when I was younger I had looked up videos and practiced that way.

Sorry for late reply, its been a busy work week.  I am happy to practice with you both.  What means would be easier: here, glide, skype? And what time zones are you in? I am MDT.

Would it be possible for me to join as well?! You seem like you know a lot and I just started learning and would really benefit from your help.

Hey my name's Adaijah but everyone just calls me Mo.  I started learning ASL a couple years ago but I stopped since then and just decided to pick it up again last month. I'm sorry I can't upload to the video of my introducing myself but if anyone would like to help me practice just message me.

@Gaby Sorry, I had to find my charger for my laptop. You can add me on Skpye: Raquel Revelo. We can skype now :) And @HeyItsMo I'd love to help you get back into signing. Maybe the three of us can Skype together. The more the merrier. Right?

    • Hi everyone! I am a graduate student at the University of California, Davis. I'm desperately looking for individuals who use ASL--especially interpreters--for a pilot study for my dissertation. If you have a spare moment, I would like to invite you to take this completely online research survey. Your contribution to this research will help neuroscientists learn more about how sign language is processed in the brain for those who use both a spoken and signed language. This research has been approved by the UC Davis IRB board. Below is some more information, and the link to the study: --- Study of Sign Language Processing:  What is the purpose of this study? By evaluating participant responses to this short, online experiment, we can get a better understanding of the neural mechanisms that are used to support sign language processing in the brain. Who can participate? We encourage anyone (even hearing parents or individuals who use ASL consistently) from anywhere in the US to participate. Eligible participants meet the following criteria: ·       Between 18-50 years of age. ·       Normal cognitive function. ·       Consistent use of American Sign Language. ·       Have normal or corrected-to-normal vision. ·       High school competency (9th grade) in reading English What does participation look like? This experiment is an approximately 20-minute online study, which should be taken on a laptop or computer. You will be presented with a consent form, a short background questionnaire, and then a decision task. You will see videos of a deaf person signing, then you will press a key on the keyboard in response. Here is the link to the study: https://research.sc/participant/login/dynamic/DFB825B2-1571-4380-9CBD-D666D51DAAB9 Additional Project Information: This study was approved by the University of California, Davis IRB (an ethics board) [2402245-1] Your information will be kept confidential and in a secure database.
