  1. Would anyone be interested joining a Facebook group to practice. I'm finding people aren't around here very often. Hopefully this will be allowed as it's purely for improving our BSL. It's called BSL forum

  2. Hi Deejay is a nickname. I work for a Museum and am also co Leader of a Young Archaeologists' Club. I would like to make both of these inclusive to people of the Deaf community and those with a hearing impairment. This will mean that both the Museum and club would be more accessible. I have been a guided a group around the Museum with a BSL interpreter but would like to be able to do this myself to make engagement with the visitor a better experience. I am also an emergency first aider. If someone in general was in difficulty and needed/ wanted assistance it would be nice if I was in a position to help.

  3. That's okay, Laura! Still a useful sign to know. Especially at the moment! Thanks!

  4. Hi there, would the sign for ambulance (sirene) and then nurse (cross on outer aspect of non-dominant arm) not cover it? I know a paramedic is not just an 'ambulance nurse', but maybe it covers the meaning sufficiently? I'm a learner, so please don't take my word for gospel... Best wishes, Marijn

  5. I work in a FE/ HE mix college as a Library Assistant, we have a fantastic hearing impaired department so have lots of Deaf/deaf students. It would be fantastic to be able to directly communicate with the students without an LSA or interpreter with us. It could come in handy in the wider community too.
