  2. Astrology relies heavily on complex spatial relationships and geometric configurations, making it a naturally visual system of knowledge. For deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals, interpreting these cosmic patterns through sign language brings a unique, highly expressive dimension to natal charts. When generating a precise horoscope by date of birth and time, visual signers can map the exact angles of the planets using three-dimensional spatial signing. This vibrant, spatial approach allows for a rich discussion of aspects like trines and squares that written text alone often fails to fully capture. By bridging the gap between ancient sky maps and modern visual linguistics, the community opens up entirely new ways to experience personal celestial blueprints.

  11. Hi Triceta, I am 65 and hard of hearing. I wear a hearing aid in one ear and am profoundly deaf in the other. Would you be interested in video chatting with me (preferably voice off)? I have some conversational skills in ASL and the only way I will improve is learning from others. Thank you.
  12. Hi everyone, I am currently looking for someone who knows American Sign Language (ASL) and would be willing to help with my bachelor’s thesis. As part of my research, I am investigating whether the translation tool Rylo (https://rylo.com/sign/translate/) can preserve humour when translating written English wordplay into ASL. For this, I have a small set of short (15-60 sec) ASL videos generated by the tool. Participants would be asked to watch the videos and answer five short questions per video about the translation, mainly focusing on whether the humour and meaning are preserved. You do not have to review all videos; any amount of help would already be very valuable. If you know ASL, or if you know someone who might be interested in helping, please feel free to contact me via here or on [email protected] Thank you in advance!
  13. Hello, my name is LaDonn and I have been learning ASL over the past few years. I have taken some local classes which were extremely helpful and I love making new friends. I also study on my own using ASL dictionaries, watching videos and recently teaming up with a fellow ASL classmate to practice when we can. So, I was thrilled to find this site where I can actually video chat with other signers and practice with voice off. The best way to learn is by doing. I would love to meet both beginners like me and experienced signers, too.
  14. Hi! My name is Kendal, and I am a college student currently enrolled in ASL II. Unfortunately, online spaces are the only way I can immerse myself in the Deaf community, which is the main reason I decided to make my account. Now, onto the interview help... For my midterm project, I am required to conduct a brief interview with a deaf person. If there is anyone who fits my single criteria and is willing to participate, please let me know!
  15. Hi, my name is Triceta. I am 30 years old. I am Deaf, I lost my hearing in 2023, but I have been signing for 13 years, I took ASL in highschool and just continued signing. I immersed myself in the deaf community, wanting to learn more and to practice the skills I had. Fast forward to 2020, I started having double ear infections and kept complaining of the pain, but nothing was ever done. By the time I saw a doctor who would listen to me and consulted with an ENT specialist, my hearing had already diminished in both ears.
