  2. Hellooo!! My name is Kai. I'm almost 15 & I use he/him pronouns. I am currently looking to make friends & practice buddies - I am learning ASL because I cannot always speak verbally due to my anxiety. I am a beginner, but I'm okay with chatting with anyone (14-16), whether you're a beginner or not! If you want to text me, contact me on zoom please!! I'l reply much faster & much more often than I will on here. (Just add [email protected] as a contact, that's me! I'll respond ASAP :D) BTW, I might host a videochat tonight at 6 PM EST! You'll be welcome to speak in ASL, English, or by using the text option. If you'll only be using ASL, please be prepared to also translate in the chat for people who aren't fluent. ^^;
  3. Hi! My name is Jasmine, and I'm 17 years old. I have been studying ASL for a little bit, but didn't retain much. I have been watching Bill Vicars and Meredith ASL trying to learn some more ASL, but I learn better if I have someone to have a conversation with. I would prefer it if you were 15-17 years old, so it would be more relatable for the both of us.
  4. Hello everyone! I am currently collecting data for my gender and language course! I am also a 2-year ASL student. My project is focused on how gender is used in ASL, and I would greatly appreciate it if you could take about 3-5 minutes to complete my google form! Thats why I am here! Im looking for people to have a ASL connection with and to basically only sign to each other. Id love to get two know you, become friends, and grow our passion our ASL together! P.S. I am also a ASL tutor so if you need help, I am here

  9. Hello! I am Max. I want to find someone to do Sign Language with. Where I am from there is a lack of places in my area that offer sign language as a course. The local community college offers it but that's about it. I have been teaching myself American Sign Language since 2017, but I have no one to practice with. I live in New Haven, Connecticut. If anyone knows a way for me to practice with someone whether it be video chat or in person let me know.
  10. Hello, My name is Nicki [ sign name]. I grew up signing PSE. I am HOH and raised in hearing community. My grandmother and her mother were deaf , but learned PSE and lip reading ( different times/ different culture). Working on my ASL syntax. My receptive is still very english,so sometimes I miss details when in conversation using fast ASL grammar. I am hoping to find practice partners. Blessings This is my hippo video ( have no Flash Player). https://www.hippovideo.io/video/play/sJZjcxpc2LJSE6DIoGzQ6A

    Hello! My name is Tiara, and I am majoring in Physical Therapy while playing basketball at my college. I found out there was an American Sign Language class offered here so I jumped at the chance to take it. Unfortunately, it is only seen as an elective, and not equivalent to a language such as French or Spanish (which I totally don't understand). Currently, I am in the second semester of the class and this is my last one so I have been trying to find places where I could meet others that want to expand and also practice what they have already learned! My schedule is kinda hectic just because of my sport but if you want to try and practice, learn, or even just talk let me know! Thanks and I hope to make new ASL buddies

  18. Hey guys! My name is Skylar, I am looking for people who are interested in practicing ASL. I am a first year ASL student; however, I learned ASL previously from a deaf friend. My dream is to become and interpreter or do anything regarding ASL. I am currently a Psychology major but as I progress more into my ASL class and meet more deaf people I realize how much I really want to change that and possibly switch schools. I love the language and want to perfect my techniques. Any one interested please message me. I would love to share practice and experiences. I have Skype and FT. I could also download Oovoo if that works for other people. Please just let me know. Thank you guys!!
  19. <<VIDEO>> My name is Stephanie, I live in Alaska now, and am in University there. I work in the summer in SE Alaska (Petersburg) as a biologist, but go to school up in Fairbanks during fall and spring for my graduate program in marine biology. Winter I make sure to spend my time traveling as much as I can. The world is such a beautiful and amazing place it seems a shame to not explore it. I grew up with a deaf best friend, but being a rural community with no access to ASL and growing up in a hearing family, he learned SEE (Signed Exact English). I picked it up fast, took a few classes when I was older, but now he is learning ASL so I figured I would too. My dad and younger brother are deaf due to a virus now and learning ASL. Being in rural Alaska the deaf community does not have many translator options so it is always good to have the skills to help out when you can. My signing ability is pretty mixed, PSE and SEE being advanced, but then being really slow at ASL. I'm not taking classes at this time, so really need people to be able to video chat and practice my ASL with. Hope I can find some people on the online community to sign with and expand my skillset and meet some cool people, of course! Let me know if you are out there! -Stephanie: [email protected]
