  1. I would like to practice my ASL with conversation with anyone that is intermediate/advanced. I can also help beginners too!
  2. Hello, my name is Kleen, I am 23. I have two semesters left of my community college to receive my French Associate of Arts undergraduate degree in 2022. I study many languages including French (obviously), ASL, Japanese, Korean and am starting Mandarin this coming fall 2021. Languages are something I enjoy, including their cultures and would like to incorporate them into my life by finding friendships and partnerships with people alike. I am, in a way, desperate for a person near my age or a group who are open to helping each other with improving our signing since I am unable to find local gigs to meet people with the same interest. My ASL is still very basic and I have the most issue with forming sentences (verb, subject, adjective...what goes where) As friends, your job isn't to teach me, but to aid our development while enjoying the company of another. As learning partners, we may make mistakes as we improve our skills, but at least we can learn from it and move forward. I have Telegram amd Skype which works wonderfully with ASL chats.
  3. Hello! My name is Mikaela and I am a freshman in college. I have been signing for 4 year now and have a passion for the culture and language. As I am in college now studying social work, I am not able/don't have the time to study ASL also. I really want to keep my asl and use it for my career but I have no one I can sing with. Thats why I am here! Im looking for people to have a ASL connection with and to basically only sign to each other. Id love to get two know you, become friends, and grow our passion our ASL together! P.S. I am also a ASL tutor so if you need help, I am here
  4. Hi, I'm a student from the Netherlands. I am writing an essay on sign lanugages, one of them being ASL. I have a few questions for people that know a sign language and I would really appreciate it if you could answer them! I don't know a whole lot about deaf culture and sign languages, so please let me know if you find any of these questions inappropriate. For deaf or mute people: Do you sometimes struggle to communicate with people that don’t know sign language? How do you ususally overcome this? For anyone that knows sign: How extensive is the vocabulary in a sign language compared to a spoken language? Are there signs that you find hard? Do you often encounter signs that you don’t know? Do you often experience that you use different signs than other people that use the same sign language? How much would you say your sign language depends on mouth movement and body language? Was it hard for you to learn sign language? / Was it hard for you to learn a spoken language? What are, according to you, the major differences between spoken languages and sign languages? Do you use sayings in sign language, if so, are they the same as in spoken language, or are they specific to sign language? What’s your favourite part about deaf culture? Have you ever tried to communicate with another signing person that doesn’t know the same sign language? If so, what sign language and how did it go? Thank you in advance!
  5. Hellooo!! My name is Kai. I'm almost 15 & I use he/him pronouns. I am currently looking to make friends & practice buddies - I am learning ASL because I cannot always speak verbally due to my anxiety. I am a beginner, but I'm okay with chatting with anyone (14-16), whether you're a beginner or not! If you want to text me, contact me on zoom please!! I'l reply much faster & much more often than I will on here. (Just add [email protected] as a contact, that's me! I'll respond ASAP :D) BTW, I might host a videochat tonight at 6 PM EST! You'll be welcome to speak in ASL, English, or by using the text option. If you'll only be using ASL, please be prepared to also translate in the chat for people who aren't fluent. ^^;
  6. Hi! My name is Jasmine, and I'm 17 years old. I have been studying ASL for a little bit, but didn't retain much. I have been watching Bill Vicars and Meredith ASL trying to learn some more ASL, but I learn better if I have someone to have a conversation with. I would prefer it if you were 15-17 years old, so it would be more relatable for the both of us.
  7. Im looking for a buddy, and Im obviously not perfect, which is why I'm here !! If yout interested, please contact me on insta @ Bee_covery :)) Ill happily be your friend!! (17-19 please !!)

  12. Hello! I am Max. I want to find someone to do Sign Language with. Where I am from there is a lack of places in my area that offer sign language as a course. The local community college offers it but that's about it. I have been teaching myself American Sign Language since 2017, but I have no one to practice with. I live in New Haven, Connecticut. If anyone knows a way for me to practice with someone whether it be video chat or in person let me know.
  13. Hello, My name is Nicki [ sign name]. I grew up signing PSE. I am HOH and raised in hearing community. My grandmother and her mother were deaf , but learned PSE and lip reading ( different times/ different culture). Working on my ASL syntax. My receptive is still very english,so sometimes I miss details when in conversation using fast ASL grammar. I am hoping to find practice partners. Hello! My name is Tiara, and I am majoring in Physical Therapy while playing basketball at my college. I found out there was an American Sign Language class offered here so I jumped at the chance to take it. Unfortunately, it is only seen as an elective, and not equivalent to a language such as French or Spanish (which I totally don't understand). Currently, I am in the second semester of the class and this is my last one so I have been trying to find places where I could meet others that want to expand and also practice what they have already learned! My schedule is kinda hectic just because of my sport but if you want to try and practice, learn, or even just talk let me know! Thanks and I hope to make new ASL buddies

  18. Hello! My name is Lynnaya. I am trying to prep for my certification. It's been a while since I've had my hands up and so I am in desperate need of practice. I am just shy of my bachelor's in ASL Interpreting. Please if you're in the Mission Valley, Montana area, look me up and we could sign f2f. Thank you!!
